Kimberly Foss, Owner and Creative Director of Ampers& Studio, earned her degree in Printing Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1980. Prior to starting her own business, she directed the Art and Composition Departments for two commercial printers — one in northern Massachusetts, the other in southern New Hampshire — from 1980 to 1986. She further honed her growing passion for typographic perfection for several years under the tutelage of noted typographer Robin McAllister. Additionally, Ms. Foss has taught courses in and delivered lectures on Typography for the University of New Hampshire Division of Continuing Education’s Graphic Arts Certificate Program. She has also served for many years on the board of directors for a handful of local non-profits, and continues to donate her services, time, and expertise to several causes within her community.
Ampers& Studio services individuals, businesses, creative agencies, commercial printers, and educational & financial institutions throughout New England, across the United States, and around the globe, specializing in creative concepts for print and web communications, including graphic design, typography, copy writing, and complete project management. In addition, a thorough working knowledge of the printing industry gives Ampers& Studio an added advantage, as Ms. Foss knows and understands how to plan and prepare press-ready files more efficiently for obtaining the very best and most economical print results. Outside of work and community projects, Kim likes to spend time away from the computer creating art (most recently, mixed media assemblages). Her works can be found at a handful of local shops and galleries. She also enjoys a variety of activities, including everything from gardening & reading, to interior decorating & photography, to SCUBA diving & snowboarding. (Ed. note: As somewhat of a Renaissance Woman, this list could go on and on, but spending time doing anything with family will always be my favorite activity! ~ kf/& :)
